Bac Ninh leads nation in attracting foreign direct investment

In recent years, Bac Ninh province has prioritized cooperation, promotion and investment attraction efforts, successfully securing capital from major global corporations like Samsung, Canon, Nokia-Microsoft and Amkor. For several consecutive years, Bac Ninh has led the country in foreign direct investment (FDI).

Provincial leaders have consistently focused on innovating methods and activities to boost investment promotion and attraction. In the first nine months of 2024, they held meetings with key players such as Samsung Vietnam, as well as prominent companies from China, Taiwan (China), Japan and Vietnam, including visits to Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Goertek Vina Co., Ltd. to address challenges and concerns. Bac Ninh also welcomed Amkor Technology Vietnam, the Chairman of Goertek, Johnson Group (Taiwan-China), CMC Technology Group and Kine SIC Semi (USA) to explore investment opportunities.
The province has engaged with delegations from both domestic and international delegations, including the Ambassadors of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to Vietnam; Kawasaki City and Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan; a delegation from the Federal Republic of Germany; Yangzhou City, China; and the President of Timor-Leste, all of whom expressed interest in investment and collaboration. Provincial leaders have also conducted international visits to further enhance FDI attraction efforts.
In the first nine months of 2024, newly registered and adjusted FDI capital reached approximately USD4.5 billion, placing Bac Ninh at the top nationwide. Domestic investment saw a 2.9-fold increase in new projects and a 3.2-fold increase in registered capital, while new business establishments rose by 12.6%.
To date, Bac Ninh has over 2,400 active FDI projects with a total investment capital exceeding USD29 billion./.
