Vietnam’s fertilizer is mainly exported to the Cambodian market, which alone accounts for 33.2% (equivalent to 478,564 tons) of the total fertilizer export volume and 33.4% (197.37 million USD) of the total value of the country.
In October 2024, exports to this market reached 59,699 tons, equivalent to 23.19 million USD, up 18.2% in volume and up 10% in value compared to September 2024.
Following the main market of Cambodia is the Republic of Korea with 164,334 tons, equivalent to nearly 66.85 million USD, a sharp increase of 174.5% in volume and 192.7% in value; accounting for over 11% of the total fertilizer export volume and value.
Exports to Malaysia reached 95,763 tons, equivalent to 36.51 million USD, an increase of 17.6% in volume and 32.4% in value, accounting for 6.7% of the total volume and 6.2% of the total value.
According to some traders, fertilizer exports are recovering, but the entire year’s export turnover will still be far from the record of 1 billion USD in 2022 as this year, fertilizer prices on the global market are still on a downward trend./.
