HCM City budget revenue estimated to rise 8% in 2025

The HCM City People’s Council has approved a Resolution on the state budget revenue estimate; city budget revenue and expenditure in 2025.

Of which, the city estimates it will collect 520,089 billion VND for the state budget, an increase of nearly 8% compared to the estimate in 2024.

Specifically, in 2025, the southern city estimates it will collect 371,300 billion VND from domestic revenue; 18,000 billion VND from crude oil; 130,000 billion VND from import-export activities and 752 billion VND from aid revenue. The total amount from local budget revenue is expected to be over VND156,450 billion.

Accordingly, the City People’s Council assigned the City People’s Committee to continue implementing measures in revenue management; promote anti-tax loss, control revenue sources from land and public assets and manage revenue sources retained by public service units.

In addition, the city will review administrative procedures to remove difficulties, create conditions for businesses to invest in expanding production; deploy solutions to attract investment capital, improve the business environment and create favorable conditions for businesses in all economic sectors to increase investment resources for the whole society.

In 2024, HCM City was assigned to collect more than 482,850 billion VND to the State budget. Notably, information at the recent People's Council meeting showed that the city’s state budget revenue is estimated to reach over 500,000 billion VND in 2024, an increase of more than 12% against 2023. The collection contributed about 27% of the total country’s budget revenue./.
