According to the project, the southern city aims to complete six metro lines with a total length of 183km by 2035.

The preliminary total investment for this phase is about 37.20 billion USD. By 2045, the city will build an additional 168.36km, increasing the total length of the metro to about 352km with a total investment of about 21.36 billion USD.

By 2060, it strives to build 159km more to complete the entire metro network of about 510km.

The general goal set by HCM City is to develop a modern, synchronous urban railway to promote the city’s socio-economic development.

The civilized, modern mode of transport is expected to contribute to restructuring the city’s public transport system, building a traffic culture and reducing traffic congestion and environmental pollution.

The southern hub strives to achieve a public passenger transport rate of 30-40% by 2035, 40-50% by 2045 and 50-60% after 2045.

Ho Chi Minh City believes that public investment will be the main source of capital for the implementation of the project.

During the implementation of the project, the city will continue to research and call for investors to participate in investing in the construction of urban railway lines with commercial potential./.
