Accordingly, in Decision 3981/QD-BVHTTDL dated December 10, 2024, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism included the Hue Nam Temple Traditional Festival (Huong Tho commune, Hue city, Thua Thien Hue province) in the List of national intangible cultural heritages.
The Hue Nam Temple Festival (or Hon Chen Temple) is a traditional activity with spiritual cultural elements of worshiping the Holy Mother Thien Y A Na, held in the 3rd and 7th lunar months every year. The activity is considered colorful and vibrant, attracting a large number of followers of the Mother Goddess worship with tens of thousands of people attending. This is also considered a traditional folk cultural festival with a typical community character of the ancient capital of Hue.
Through the festival activities, it aims to contribute to preserving and promoting the cultural values and heritage associated with the Hue Nam Temple relic. At the same time, it meets the spiritual needs of the community practicing the Mother Goddess worship of Tam Phu - a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity recognized by UNESCO and attracts tourists to Hue.
At the same time, in Decision 3979/QD-BVHTTDL dated December 10, 2024, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism included the Traditional Craft of Making Van Cu Vermicelli (Huong Toan Commune, Huong Tra Town, Thua Thien Hue Province) in the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The traditional craft of making vermicelli in Van Cu village was formed more than 400 years ago. Over time, the craft of making Van Cu vermicelli has affirmed its brand and position in the domestic and foreign consumption markets. For a long time, Van Cu village has been famous for its pure white vermicelli, which is delivered by people to markets, restaurants, and eateries in the province every day, contributing to the brand of Hue beef vermicelli.
Currently, the craft village has attracted more than 100 households to participate in vermicelli production to supply markets, restaurants, and eateries, etc., bringing a stable source of income to the people.
Van Cu vermicelli is famous for its pure white, chewy and fragrant taste. In the decisions, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigned the Chairmen of the People's Committees at all levels where the intangible cultural heritage that has just been announced is located, within the scope of their duties and powers, to carry out state management in accordance with the provisions of the law on cultural heritage./.
