Over 1,000 OCOP products of 25 localities introduced in Hanoi

(CPV) – More than 1,000 OCOP (One Commune One Product) and regional specialties from 25 provinces and cities have been connected to the system of supermarkets, safe food business establishments, and electronic trading floors in Hanoi and the whole country.

On December 15, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in coordination with the Central Coordination Office on New Rural Development, organized an event to introduce, promote and connect OCOP.

The event attracted the participation of more than 1,000 OCOP products and regional specialties from 25 provinces and cities nationwide. In which, there are 8 northern mountainous provinces: Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, Son La, Bac Kan and Lai Chau.

The program aims to connect trade of OCOP products to supermarkets, safe food business establishments, and electronic trading floors in Hanoi and across the whole country.

Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Ngoc Son shared that the program offered favorable conditions for subjects to access advanced scientific and technical advances of organizations and individuals in the fields of agricultural production, rural environmental protection, and information technology application into promoting, connecting and consuming products.

In 2018-2020, Hanoi evaluated and classified 1,054 products, of which four are rated five stars, and 13 are potential products for 5-star performance, 731 4-star products, and 306 3-star products.

In 2021, the city expects to recognize at least 500 OCOP products, bringing the total number of OCOP to more than 1,500 products./.
