The information has been released at the bank’s online meeting to carry out tasks for 2022.

As of December 31, 2021, the bank’s credit loans totalled 256.32 trillion VND, up 22.7 billion VND from late 2020.
In 2021, the loans helped to generate jobs for more than 608,700 labourers, and assisted 1,357 businesses to restore operations and 37,500 students to continue their studies.
The bank said that its loans also helped to build nearly 1.4 million clean water and sanitation works in rural areas; build more than 1,100 houses for poor households to stabilize their lives; and build nearly 6,200 social housing units.
In his speech at the event, General Director of VBSP Duong Quyet Thang said that in 2022, the whole system continued to fully and strictly implement regulations and guidelines on epidemic prevention and control under the direction of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, the Government, the Prime Minister, the Governor of the State Bank, functional agencies, the Steering Committee for epidemic prevention and control at all levels.
He also ordered close coordination with all-level Party Committees, local authorities, and political-social organisations to synchronously roll out solutions to consolidate and improve credit quality.
He urged the bank to focus on realizing the credit plan assigned by the Prime Minister at the beginning of the year, the preferential policy credit package in the 2022-2023 socio-economic recovery and development program and other policies to implement 3 national target programs on sustainable poverty reduction, new-style rural areas construction and socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas in the 2021-2025 period./.
