According to Vietnam News Agency, the event was co-organized by the Belgian Vietnamese Alliance (BVA) and the Belgium – Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and Becamex IDC Joint Stock Company.

The event is among activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belgium and Vietnam, as well as an opportunity for Belgian businesses to learn about the environment and investment policies in Binh Dinh and connect with potential partners in Vietnam.

At the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium Nguyen Van Thao shared that over the past 50 years, the two countries’ relations have made important achievements in many fields, in which economy-trade is a bright spot. Belgium is an important trade partner of Vietnam in Europe, especially in areas where it has strengths and Vietnam has needs, such as agriculture, new energy sources, logistics, port infrastructure, chemical, and pharmaceutical.

After the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) went into effect, despite the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical fluctuations, two-way trade turnover between the two countries is still growing rapidly, reaching 3.9 billion EUR in 2021.

For his part, President of the Belgian-Vietnamese Alliance (BVA) Andries Gryffroy emphasized that Binh Dinh is one of the “golden gates” to Southeast Asia. This event will help connect people and businesses, and discover the untapped potential of the province.

Mr. Gryffroy said that in September a trade delegation including businesses from Flanders will come to Vietnam./.
