Exhibition highlights the world supporting Vietnam during war

An exhibition titled “The world showed solidarity with Vietnam in the struggle for the national reunification 1954-1975” is taking place at the Vietnam National Museum of History.

The event organized by the Vietnam National Museum of History marks the 40th anniversary of liberation of South Vietnam (April 30th, 1975 - April, 30th, 2015).

The exhibition has two parts: the first on how the world supported Vietnam in the struggle for national reunification between 1954-1975 with almost 130 photos and artifacts on display from nearly 50 European, Asian, African and Oceanianic countries.

The second part, underlines the support from international organizations, governing bodies and legal institutions for Vietnam during the struggle..

On the occasion, posters issued by the former Soviet Union, Cuba, Sweden, Finland, Hungary, Italy and Germany supporting Vietnam in the country’s national reunification struggle before 1975 are also on display.

Nearly 150 valuable images and artifacts are on exhibit and being kept at the museum to contribute to accurately portray the sentiment and actions of people around the world that supported Vietnam.

The exhibition will also feature movements launched internationally that backed Vietnam and contributed to its political, diplomatic and defensive successes, as well as raise public awareness of protecting territorial sovereignty and support given to bring about the great spring victory in 1975.

Vietnam in the struggle

 A 485-page book with thousands of signatures from people in
80 villages and towns in Varna province, Bulgaria in support of
Vietnam ’s national liberation resistance wars is also being showcased.
