Cambodian media highlights and highly evaluates President To Lam's visit

In recent days, Cambodian media agencies have continuously updated information and highly evaluated the outcomes of President To Lam's state visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia on July 12 and 13, at the invitation of Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni.

Major Cambodian media outlets, including the Cambodian National News Agency (AKP), Kampuchea Thmey, SBM News, CNC, DAP News and FRESH News, have consistently reported on the activities of President To Lam. They focused on his meetings and discussions with the Cambodian King and senior leaders, covering a wide range of topics.

SBM.News reported on the meeting between President To Lam and the President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), President of the Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen, on the afternoon of July 12. The site quoted President To Lam reaffirming Vietnam's consistent policy of trusted friendship with Cambodia, based on comprehensive cooperation, good neighborliness and a shared history of combating common enemies. He also emphasized the importance of existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms at various levels, particularly in promoting people-to-people exchanges.

SBM.News also quoted President To Lam praising Cambodia's rapid development under the leadership of the CPP, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, and the current Royal Government led by Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet. He expressed confidence that Cambodia would achieve its goal of becoming an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050.

President of the CPP and President of the Cambodian Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen agreed with President To Lam's remarks about the relationship between the two countries. He believed that under the far-sighted leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnam would accomplish its goal of becoming a developing country with modern industry and high middle-income status by 2030. He expressed confidence that Vietnam would join the group of developing countries (G20) and become a developed country, creating positive effects for neighboring countries like Cambodia and Laos.

Kampuchea Thmey reported on the meeting on July 13 at the Peace Palace between President To Lam and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet. The newspaper highlighted the commitment of both countries to strengthening and expanding cooperation for the benefit of their peoples and nations. President To Lam congratulated Cambodia on its significant achievements under the reign of the King, and the leadership of President of the Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Prime Minister Hun Manet. He expressed his wish for Cambodia to continue developing and achieving its vision of becoming an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasized the need to further strengthen and expand Cambodia-Vietnam cooperation. The two sides discussed key issues such as strengthening diplomatic and political cooperation, economics, trade, investment and energy, as well as defense and security.

The national news agency AKP reported on the meeting between President To Lam and President of the Cambodian National Assembly Khuon Sodary on July 13. Mrs. Khuon Sodary affirmed the good relationship between the two countries' parliaments, which has been established and maintained through many generations of legislative leaders. She also emphasized Vietnam's support for Cambodia's liberation from the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime and its assistance in economic development, which has helped Cambodia develop to its current status.

In addition to the high-level meetings, Cambodian media also reported on other activities during President To Lam 's visit, such as meetings with the President of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association Men Sam An, a gathering with the Cambodian Alumni Association of Vietnam (CAVA), and his visit and speech at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, along with related activities of the high-level Vietnamese delegation./.
