The People's Daily, the mouthpiece of the Communist Party of China, and the Xinhua News Agency on October 30 solemnly published the event that Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong began an official visit to China at the invitation of Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.
The People's Daily newspaper also published an article by Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son with the title "Adding new impetus to the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership", affirming that Vietnam and China will continue to build a strong strategic partnership. The country has a long-standing traditional relationship built and cultivated by generations of senior leaders, along with practical cooperation achievements over the past time. “We believe and expect that the Vietnam-China relationship will constantly gain new momentum and rise to new heights, bringing better benefits to the two peoples, contributing to peace, cooperation and development of the region and the world.”

On the same day, the Chinese Central Radio and Television also interviewed Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo about the significance of the visit. This is the best time to make a visit because the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has just ended, and the socialist cause of the two countries has entered a new stage of development, inheriting the past and looking forward to the future.
He highly appreciated the exchanges between the two Parties and the advantages of this relationship in leading and promoting the Vietnam-China relationship, and said that these advantages will be "fully manifested in the political achievements of this visit”.

The Paper and Shanghai’s Xinmin Evening News also published in-depth articles on Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit and Vietnam-China relations. It affirms that Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong became the first top-level foreign leader to visit China after the 20th National Congress and that Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping chose Vietnam as the first visit after the 19th National Congress five years ago, showing "the special friendship and long-standing close exchange between the two countries.” Therefore, the visit has attracted the attention of the whole world.
