Particularly, right after the high-level talks between Party General Secretary and President To Lam and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, Chinese state media outlets such as People’s Daily, Xinhua News Agency, China Central Television (CCTV), China Daily, the Communist Party of China’s online newspaper, and the Chinese government’s online newspaper prominently featured news, articles and images of the official welcoming ceremony, high-level talks, document signing ceremony, tea party and banquet within the framework of the visit.
The websites of People’s Daily and Xinhua News Agency highlighted the talks between the two leaders with a prominent headline: "Grasping the Direction to Build a China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future, Strengthening the Solid Development Landscape of the 'Six Mores': Higher Political Trust; More Substantial Defense and Security Cooperation; Deeper Substantive Cooperation; Stronger Social Foundation; Closer Multilateral Coordination; Better Controlled and Resolved Differences."
Accordingly, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping emphasized the significance of the visit and the strategic importance of China-Vietnam relations, expressing readiness to work with General Secretary and President To Lam to build a cooperative relationship and personal friendship, guiding the building of the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future into a deeper and more practical direction. He stressed that, amid global changes, the two countries have maintained long-term economic growth and social stability, demonstrating the superiority and vitality of the socialist system and cause. China views Vietnam as a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy, supports the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and the path of socialism suited to the country's conditions, deepening reform, integration, and socialist modernization.
The article noted that following the talks, both sides witnessed the signing of numerous bilateral cooperation agreements on party schools, infrastructure connectivity, industry, finance, customs inspection and quarantine, healthcare, media and communication, local cooperation, and people’s livelihood. Notably, the top leaders of both Parties and countries continued to engage in in-depth discussions on important issues of mutual concern in a friendly and cordial atmosphere.
The China Daily website quoted the leaders’ comments on the special significance of this visit. According to General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, the first stop of the visit to Guangdong province is very meaningful, as 100 years ago, President Ho Chi Minh arrived in Guangzhou to engage in revolutionary activities, with his footprints spanning many localities in China, ultimately leading Vietnam to victory in the August Revolution and achieving national independence.
Those heroic years have become an indelible "red memory" in the history of exchanges between the two Communist Parties of China and Vietnam, with the shared belief in ideals becoming a "red seed" passed down from generation to generation within the two Parties, forming the traditional friendship.
For his part, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that this is his first visit after being elected as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, demonstrating that the Party and State of Vietnam consistently value relations with China, considering it a strategic choice and top priority in foreign policy. He affirmed his readiness to work with General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and the leadership of the Party and State of China to continuously foster the traditional friendship, deepen and elevate the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership./.
