Congratulating Vietnam on being elected to the UN Human Rights Council for the term 2023-2025 at the UN General Assembly meeting on October 11th, he confirmed that this is a clear demonstration of the efforts of the Government of Vietnam in protecting human rights, as well as a clear reflection of the increasingly improving living conditions of the Vietnamese people.
He recalled his impression of his visit to Vietnam 4 years ago and his attendance in cultural festivals of ethnic minorities in Sa Pa, the northwestern mountainous region of Vietnam, which helped him really feel the happiness of Vietnamese ethnic minorities when they enjoy a free, peaceful life and are proud of their own respected and honored cultural identity. He affirmed that it is the most vivid proof that human rights are protected and respected in Vietnam.
He highlighted Vietnam's economic achievements, saying that Vietnam is one of the most dynamically developing countries in the world today. Vietnam's economic growth is truly phenomenal. In particular, Vietnam is one of two member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) that have signed a Free Trade Agreement with the European Union (EVFTA). This shows the high trust of the European Union (EU) in Vietnam.
The President of the Czech-Vietnam Friendship Association also mentioned the rapid development of education, noting that Vietnam is now becoming a leading country in information technology development thanks to the quality of teaching at training institutions at different levels of education. Another remarkable achievement of Vietnam is the development of the healthcare sector, with many medical facilities meeting very high standards.
He also mentioned that Vietnam is interested in cleaning up the marine environment with beautiful beaches, and promoting traffic development. “I think all these achievements are helping to improve and enhance people's quality of life, as well as further strengthen the protection of human rights in Vietnam," he said.
In addition, Mr. Milos Kusy emphasized that Vietnam actively participates in promoting and protecting the right of all people in the world to live in peace, and highly appreciated Vietnam's efforts to promote international dialogue and cooperation in a spirit of mutual respect and understanding, taking into account the specific conditions and interests of nations, especially developing countries.
According to Mr. Milos Kusy, the Czech-Vietnam Friendship Association fully supports the efforts of Vietnam, together with other member countries of the UN Human Rights Council, to promote initiatives and solutions for the right to lead a peaceful life, the right for development, and the rights for vulnerable groups, gender equality, access to health, education and employment, as well as response to climate change and epidemics./.
