Data from the Google Destination Insights shows that, since the beginning of 2022, the number of international searches on Vietnam’s tourism (for airlines and accommodation establishments) is increasing rapidly, ranking among the highest in the world with more than 75%.

In particular, the most searched destinations in Vietnam are Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Phu Quoc Island in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang, the central coastal city of Da Nang, Nha Trang in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa, Hoi An in the central coastal province of Quang Nam, Hue in the central province of Thua Thien - Hue, Da Lat in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, and Vung Tau in the southern province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau. These are all famous tourist centers and destinations in the country.
Notably, Google Destination Insights also shows that the highest number of searches for Vietnam tourism come from the US, Australia, France, Canada, Japan, Germany, Singapore, the UK, India and Thailand.
Accordingly, the search volume of international visitors from the US on Vietnam tourism increased sharply at the beginning of February 2022, to about 480% compared to the same period last year, while the Australian visitor market remained at a high level in the first three months of 2022, with an increase of 760% over the same period last year.
Some countries in the European market also show interest in Vietnam’s tourism, such as France with an increase of 376% in search volume over the same period last year; and Germany with a 350% increase at the beginning of February 2022.
In Southeast Asia, the number of searches on Vietnamese tourism from the Singapore market has been skyrocketing since the beginning of March. Search volume at the beginning of January 2022 only increased by 22% but the volume increased by 400% in March 2022./.
