Vietnam’s ancient town of Hoi An in the central province of Quang Nam tops the list of the 10 most valuable tourist destinations in 2024, according to the UK’s Post Office.

The UK’s Post Office’s criteria for its rankings consider factors likely to influence travelers’ decisions for 2024 holiday, from exchange rates to food and drink costs and visits to famous places. From there, this magazine presents a list of the most valuable tourist destinations globally, where tourists’ money becomes more valuable with cheap and reasonable costs.
As described by the UK’s Post Office, Hoi An ancient town leads the way thanks to its economical budget and lower costs for restaurants and bars than other places. Out of a total of eight popular items for tourists, Hoi An ranks first with three low-cost items: beer (about 1.47 USD), Coca-Cola (about 0.91 USD) and sunscreen (about 4.70 USD). This cost level has helped Hoi An jump from sixth place in 2023 to to the top spot this year.
Also according to the magazine, Hoi An is one of the most attractive cities in Vietnam. This place is not hustle and bustle like other big cities. Visitors can spend the morning on pristine beaches, the afternoon visiting fascinating historical sites and searching for the best dishes at Hoi An night market.
Hoi An is also one of the best places in the world with hotels that offer the best quality of sleep, according to the Skyscanner UK Travel Trends Report 2024.
Other places made the magazine’s list are Cape Twon (South Africa), Mombasa (Kenya), Tokyo (Japan), Algarve (Portugal), Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt), Sunny Beach (Bulgaria), Kuta (Bali, Indonesia), Marmaris (Turkey) and Paphos (Cyprus)./.
