On August 2, the ANI news agency published an article stating that current geopolitical realities require closer cooperation between India and Vietnam. The two nations are urged to enhance their comprehensive strategic partnership across all sectors.

During the visit, Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the multilateral mechanisms between the two countries in areas such as foreign policy, security and maritime cooperation, defense cooperation, parliamentary exchanges, trade and investment, agriculture, healthcare, civil aviation, information technology and communications, science and technology (including space and nuclear technology), tourism and culture.

It affirmed that Vietnam and India, both rapidly developing economies, agreed to strengthen government and business cooperation to promote two-way trade, investment and technology partnerships, aiming to increase bilateral trade to USD20 billion from the current USD15 billion.

Leaders also agreed to continue efforts to boost investment flows between the two countries. Vietnam welcomed Indian investments in infrastructure, high technology, clean technology, information technology, supporting industries and manufacturing, textiles, automotive and materials industries, green agriculture, smart agriculture, innovation and startups, semiconductors, renewable energy, energy conservation projects, power production, bio-gas and polyester fabric, among many others.

On the same day, the Hindustan Times evaluated Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's state visit to India as providing new impetus for the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and expanding cooperation into new areas such as digital economy and renewable energy.

The visit helped both sides outline deeper bilateral directions across many fields, aligning with the interests of both countries amidst complex geopolitical and economic changes in the region and globally.

Several other famous Indian newspapers commented that defense cooperation is a cornerstone of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and India, becoming increasingly important as both leaders agree to enhance defense cooperation based on mutual interests and priorities. This approach will contribute to enhancing stability in the Indian Ocean-Pacific region.

According to Jaideep Mazumdar, India's Deputy Foreign Minister for East Asia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's state visit to India after 10 years is of utmost importance following the elevation of their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership. The visit provided an opportunity for both sides to discuss and assess the substance of their comprehensive strategic partnership, as well as to chart the course of this relationship in the future.

Deputy Minister Mazumdar affirmed that India considers Vietnam a pillar in its "Act East" policy, an important partner in the Indo-Pacific Initiative, and one of the key partners in ASEAN.

Vietnam has a longstanding and close relationship with India in terms of history and civilization. The relationship between the two countries is developing in many areas, notably in defense and security, economics, trade and investment, and people-to-people exchanges.

Moreover, both countries share a common vision and development orientation: Vietnam aims to become a developed, high-income country, among the leading industrialized nations in Asia by 2045, while India aspires to a "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India) by 2047./.
