Indian newspaper praises 'sculpture' of Sapa terraced fields

The Indian newspaper said that the typical rice fields in Sa Pa are terraced terrain, located in the middle of a lush valley and surrounded by majestic mountain peaks. In addition, this is also the gathering place of local ethnic minority groups such as the H’Mong, Dao and Tay, forming the cultural identity of the region.

According to India Times, terraced fields in Sa Pa have positioned themselves on the world tourist map. The fields bring the beauty of creation and skillful cultivation from the hands of local farmers, creating "sculptures" on the mountainside. Compared with the famous terraced fields in Ubud and Tegallalang in Bali, Indonesia, Sapa has its own unique characteristics. The highlight is the change of scenery through the four seasons.

Sapa has four seasons, each passing season brings a different beauty. In spring, the field surface is flooded, reflecting the colors of the earth and the sky. In summer, the fields take on the lush green color of young rice. In autumn from August to October, the terraced fields "turn into a golden carpet". This is also the time of year to attract tourists. In winter, the terraced fields are sometimes covered with a layer of snow, creating a fancy scene.

Sa Pa terraced fields are concentrated mainly in Cat Cat, Ta Van or Lao Chai villages.

This is not the first time Sapa has been named in foreign media. In early May, the American travel magazine CnTraveler voted Sa Pa in the list of 50 most beautiful towns in the world. With a population of more than 9,400, the popular resort town of Lao Cai is described as a mountainous locality, bordering China, with mountains, terraced fields, numerous waterfalls and walking trails./.
