Vietnam restored diplomatic relations with China in 1991, normalized relations with the US in 1995, joined the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 1995, and participated in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in 1998, the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2007 and successfully integrated into the global economy. Vietnam is fully integrating into the world economy with the signing of a series of free trade agreements, thereby bringing prosperity to the country.

The famous Indonesian journalist said that joining ASEAN on July 28, 1995 was a breakthrough in Vietnam's foreign policy. According to the journalist, Vietnam has made the right decision. This diplomatic action has brought respect and trust from the international community to Vietnam. It was a step that laid the groundwork and was the first step up a high ladder. Following that, Vietnam joined APEC, WTO, the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).

Mr. Anjaiah emphasized that since joining ASEAN, Vietnam has always actively and responsibly contributed to ASEAN cooperation, contributing to peace and prosperity in the region. Vietnam pursues and implements all ASEAN policies. Vietnam's diplomacy has contributed to promoting the progress of ASEAN. With its efforts and efforts, Vietnam has a respected position in ASEAN as well as in the international arena.

According to the senior journalist of the Jakarta Post, Vietnam is making efforts to become a friend, a reliable partner, an active and responsible member of the international community. From an isolated country, Vietnam currently has diplomatic relations with 196 countries and territories around the world, including 30 strategic partners and comprehensive partners. In 2019, Vietnam was elected as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021 term with an impressive 192 of 193 votes. Mr. Anjaiah said that this is another great success of Vietnam's foreign affairs and diplomacy.

Along with its achievements in foreign affairs, researcher Anjaiah is also impressed with Vietnam's economic development achievements. He said that economic reform and increased integration with global economies have put Vietnam on a prosperous trajectory. The poverty rate will drop to just 4.8% in 2020, a sharp drop from 70% in the mid-1980s. Per capita income skyrocketed from USD483 in 1986 to USD3,842 at present. From a food importer, in only a few years, Vietnam has risen to become the world's leading rice exporter, surpassing many countries in the region. According to him, many countries are looking at Vietnam and want to learn from Vietnam's development model.

In the context of the current complicated international and regional situation, Mr. Anjaiah said that Vietnam needs to persevere in its foreign policy, which has been proven to bring peace and prosperity. In which, globalization, free trade, peace, friendship, order and cooperation based on rules must be the main contents of Vietnam's foreign policy./.
