When meeting members of the delegation, local people always put their right hand on their left chest to show their gratitude and appreciation for the rescue forces of Vietnam.
Colonel Nguyen Minh Khuong, Deputy Director of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security, and Head of the mission, said that the work of Vietnam's rescue team in Turkey is using specialized equipment brought from Vietnam. These are concrete drilling and cutting equipment, radar victim detectors, as well as camera and audio victim detectors. The delegation is also working with local providers of equipment such as excavators, scrapers and cranes to move and break up concrete slabs in areas where people are in distress.
According to Colonel Nguyen Minh Khuong, the Turkish side as well as international delegations participating in the rescue work with the Vietnamese delegation highly appreciated the enthusiasm and professionalism of the Vietnamese rescue forces. It is all reflected in the effective use of modern and specialized equipment by the Vietnamese delegation to perform search and rescue missions.
This is the first time Vietnam has deployed forces to participate in search and rescue activities for natural disasters in collaboration with many other countries, and has rescued many victims on the first working day. The Vietnamese rescue team is currently continuing to dig and search under rubble and collapsed buildings to find and rescue people trapped in the earthquake disaster on February 6./.
