International community confident in Vietnam's responsibility in ensuring human rights: Chinese scholar

Appreciating Vietnam's election to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for the 2023-2025 tenure, Prof. Guyuanyang from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences said that this is the second time Vietnam has taken on this responsibility, showing the confidence of the international community in the role and position of Vietnam after many years of actively integrating deeply with the world.

The Chinese scholar added that, after more than 35 years of conducting Doi Moi (renewal) in all fields of political, economic and social life, Vietnam has made many important achievements, especially in the improvement of people's material and spiritual lives, poverty reduction, job creation, heading for a prosperous and happy society.

According to the Chinese Professor, following the responsibilities that Vietnam assumes in multilateral cooperation mechanisms in the region and the world, with experiences gained in boosting socio-economic development, improving people's living standards, preventing and controlling pandemics and promoting human rights in recent years, Vietnam can well fulfill its role as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council for the term 2023-2025 through strengthening cooperation and sharing experience with developing countries, in order to practically ensure human rights, to join hands to solve hot problems that humanity is facing, such as poverty, epidemics, climate change, violence and conflict./.
