Korean media reports positively on Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit

KBS reported on the meeting between the Republic of Korea (RoK) President Yoon Suk Yeol and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, during which the host president suggested that Vietnam boost bilateral investment.

Specifically, KBS highlighted the meeting where President Yoon proposed that Vietnam enhance bilateral investment and suggested that Vietnamese leaders, including Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, pay attention to and actively support the activities of Korean businesses in Vietnam.

Additionally, President Yoon hoped that the two countries would continue to strengthen cooperation in several areas, including simplifying customs procedures. In response, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh noted that since President Yoon's visit to Vietnam in June 2023, the relationship between Vietnam and the RoK has made significant progress in various fields, based on the comprehensive strategic partnership.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asserted that the two countries have great potential to further develop their relationship in the future. Furthermore, KBS mentioned Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's meetings with leaders of major Korean economic conglomerates.

During his meeting with Lee Jae Yong, Chairman of Samsung Group, the two sides discussed ways to expand cooperation. Chairman Lee Jae Yong appreciated the development of the cooperative relationship between Samsung and Vietnam in recent times and thanked the Vietnamese government for helping the company overcome difficulties during the COVID-19 pandemic. Samsung's leader committed to continuing to support Vietnam and plans to focus investments over the next three years to make the Samsung Display factory in Vietnam the group's largest module display production base globally.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly valued Samsung's achievements in its investment process in Vietnam, contributing positively to Vietnam's import-export and socio-economic development. The Prime Minister urged Samsung to enhance the activities of its Research and Development (R&D) Center in Hanoi and expand cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises.

According to KBS, during the visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also met with leaders of several other conglomerates, including GS Engineering & Construction (GS E&C) Chairman Huh Yoon Hong, Hyosung Group Chairman Cho Hyun Joon, Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong Bin, and Korean Federation of small and medium sized enterprises (KBIZ) Chairman Kim Ki Moon, to discuss diverse economic cooperation measures, including investment and future projects./.
