Korean teacher’s impressive exhibition of paintings about Vietnamese country and people

Kim Jai-min, a retired teacher of Songdo High School in Incheon City (the Republic of Korea), has great affection for the Vietnamese country and people. He has used watercolors to redraw pictures he has taken during his travels to Vietnam over the past 30 years and organizes exhibitions to introduce people to the country he has "fallen in love with".

The exhibition of watercolor paintings about Vietnam at Gallery Yeonjung in Incheon City includes paintings depicting the daily life of the people of the western region’s localities that the author visited many times, such as My Tho, Vinh Long, Can Tho and Chau Doc (An Giang). More specifically, this exhibition takes place on the occasion that the two countries are actively preparing activities towards the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations (December 22, 1992 - December 22). 2022).

Kim Jai-min said that since 1993, he traveled to Vietnam about 30 times and thereby gained many documents and beautiful memories about the Vietnamese country and people. “The more I travel, the deeper my feelings for Vietnam become,” he said. “Ten years ago, I started painting and drawing, inspired by the pictures I took and mainly just dedicated to Vietnamese people living in the Republic of Korea with the desire to help them, especially Vietnamese women married to Koreans, to alleviate some of their homesickness."

Mr. Kim Jai-min is also very active and has made many contributions to a harmonious multicultural society when he organized 10 different watercolor painting exhibitions in the years 2019-2021 period. With the experience and over the past 30 years, he also compiled the book "Vietnamese travel by Koreans" published in 1994 and the book "Inside Vietnam" published in 2005.

Mr. Kim Jai-min also participated in the introduction of Vietnam in the program "Tourism Chronicles" on the world topic of EBS (the Republic of Korea) to promote Vietnam and is a co-author of the book "A Story about Vietnam" (published in 2015) which contributes to helping Koreans have a deep understanding of the Vietnamese country and people./.
