The article stated that, in 2022, the two Parties, two States and the people of the two countries have jointly organized many rich activities, reflecting the great solidarity and friendship that cannot be separated.
The article cited that, at the closing ceremony of the Lao-Vietnamese Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022, Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh issued a joint statement, emphasizing the successful results and reviewing the comprehensive cooperation of the two countries in the past time, setting the direction of cooperation in the future. The two sides have signed 10 cooperation documents in many fields.
It emphasized that the official visit to Laos by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam recently held great regional significance. The visit took place when the two countries were summarizing activities to celebrate the Lao-Vietnam, Vietnam-Laos 2022 Friendship and Solidarity Year, to celebrate two historic events: the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962 - September 5, 2022) and 45 years since the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.
During the visit, the two sides highly appreciated the commemorative activities. Since it was officially launched from the beginning of 2022 in Hanoi to the end of 2022, the two sides coordinated to organize many commemorative activities, becoming an exciting movement both in the country and representative offices of the two countries abroad. The two sides have regularly exchanged 115 delegations on both sides, of which the Lao side had 51 delegations and the Vietnamese side had 64 delegations.
Besides, the two sides also organized many activities to promote economy, trade, investment, culture-society and education. At the same time, the two sides also organized many communications activities on the mass media, organized literary and artistic composing contests, and contests about Laos-Vietnam relations, receiving wide attention in society.
One of the outstanding activities in celebrating the Year of Friendship and Solidarity was that the two sides solemnly organized the 60th Anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 45th Anniversary of the Signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation at the capitals of the two countries on July 18, 2022, with the participation of high-ranking comrades and a large number of people.
