Newly-appointed Swedish Ambassador touched by Vietnamese people’s warmth and hospitality

Arriving in Vietnam for his term, newly-appointed Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam Johan Ndisi expressed his emotion at the warmth and hospitality of the Vietnamese people.

On his Facebook, Ambassador Johan Ndisi said that he arrived in Vietnam last week. "Your genuine welcome and gracious reception have reminded me of the deep, people-to-people connections that have defined the Sweden-Vietnam relationship over the past 55 years of diplomatic relations," the Ambassador shared.

Expressing his honor and pride in continuing to build and strengthen the historic and extensive relationship between the two countries, Ambassador Johan Ndisi said: “It is these human bonds, forged through decades of cultural exchange, infrastructure development, educational cooperation, and mutual understanding, that have laid the foundation for our increasing trade and economic partnership today.”

The Ambassador looks forward to working closely with new friends and colleagues in government, business, academia, media and any other sector to further strengthen and diversify the Vietnam - Sweden special relationship.

“Together, I am confident that we can identify new avenues for collaboration, expand existing initiatives, and ensure that the Sweden-Vietnam partnership continues to grow from strength to strength, benefiting not only our two countries and peoples, but also contributing to the prosperity and stability of the global economy,” he writes.

He also expresses his hope to receive suggestions on must-visit places, experiences or events that would help him to immerse himself in the Vietnamese context and culture.

On August 12, Ambassador Johan Ndisi presented the letter of credentials to General Secretary and President To Lam, officially taking up his office in Vietnam./.
