On November 28, the Independent newspaper, a website specializing in political analysis and international news of the Russian Federation, published an article by Grigory Trofimchuk, an expert international political commentator, which highly appreciated the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia.

Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership

The article also highlighted the significance of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc's visit to Russia from November 29 to December 2.

The article affirms that Vietnam is a reliable partner of the Russian Federation not only in the former Soviet Union period but also in the present day. Trust in bilateral relations was once again affirmed in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, when Vietnam was one of the first countries in the world to approve a vaccine from Russia.

In August 2021, the first batch of Sputnik V vaccine was successfully produced right in Vietnam. The article emphasizes that "belief towards Russia and towards the Russian people has been infiltrated in the blood of Vietnamese people". Russia and Vietnam share the same opinion on many international issues, notably, both countries support the multipolar world order system, including the principle of resolving major conflicts in the world by means of peaceful diplomatic solutions, on the basis of respect for international law.

Author Trofimchuk highly appreciates Vietnam's growing role and position in the international arena. Vietnam is now a leading member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), an increasingly prominent member of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum and a host of organizations other influential positions.

Also according to the author, Vietnam is a country located at the intersection of all the important trade and political routes in the Asia-Pacific. Vietnam, as a peace-loving country, is doing all it can to prevent a new war in the region. This is clearly demonstrated when Hanoi holds the role of a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, even in the most difficult period of the world, 2020 - 2021.

Regarding economic and trade cooperation, the article emphasizes that in 2015, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Vietnam signed an agreement on a free trade area, thereby bringing this economic association to a new height, not only allowing the expansion of bilateral trade exchanges, but also helping to expand the Eurasian space to Southeast Asia. The author asserts that Vietnam is "one of the important locomotives of the Asia-Pacific region, which is considered the focus of world economic and financial growth".

Regarding President Nguyen Xuan Phuc's visit to Russia, the author Trofimchuk spends a lot of time writing about him. In the eyes of foreign observers, especially Russian experts and scholars, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc is shown to be an energetic person but always has a gentle and sincere smile. The author emphasized that 1954 - the year President Nguyen Xuan Phuc was born - had become a landmark in the country's history.

The article quoted the announcement of the Kremlin press agency as saying that during a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc before this visit, the two sides reached "a common agreement to further develop the bilateral relationship as a comprehensive strategic partnership”. According to the author, the comprehensive strategic partnership is already the highest possible level of cooperation, however, development is unlimited and cannot stand still.

At the end of the article, the author Trofimchuk hopes that in the near future, through the good cooperation relationship with Vietnam, Russia will show more clearly its role in Asia - Pacific, an important region of the world, and participate more actively in strengthening Asian security, including energy security./.
