Away from famous beaches, big cities and world heritage sites, Sa Pa is a quiet mountain town located in Lao Cai province, northwest of Vietnam.
According to Condé Nast Traveler, Sa Pa is a destination that possesses majestic mountain scenery, immense terraced fields, spectacular waterfalls and winding trails. A series of beautiful destinations around the town are waiting for tourists to visit such as Ham Rong Mountain, Fansipan Peak, Muong Hoa Valley, Seo My Ty Lake, O Quy Ho Pass, Silver Waterfall and Love Waterfall.
Besides enjoying the beautiful nature, visitors can take the time to explore attractive places not to be missed when coming to Sa Pa, such as checking in at Sa Pa Stone Church, shopping at Sa Pa market, learning about local life in traditional villages, or simply taking a walk to see the town.
Each region, each locality in Vietnam has its own cuisine and Sa Pa is no exception. Bearing the characteristics of a highland town in the Northwest, Sa Pa is famous for traditional dishes with buffalo meat, pork, black chicken, salmon, grilled dishes, colorful sticky rice and apple wine.
In 2023, Sa Pa is expected to welcome 3.5 million visitors, accounting for nearly 60% of visitors to Lao Cai province.
In order to affirm the Sa Pa - Lao Cai tourism brand, and to build sustainable development for Sa Pa national tourist area with international stature, in 2023, Lao Cai province will organize the 120th anniversary of Sa Pa tourism with over 20 attractive events and many meaningful activities disseminating the 65th anniversary of Uncle Ho's visit to Lao Cai./.
