Vietnamese peacekeeping officers highly appreciated by United Nations

The United Nations representative hoped that the Ministry of Public Security would continue to send highly qualified officers who meet the criteria to participate in United Nations peacekeeping activities, especially female officers.

During the trip to accompany Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai to attend the 2024 Executive Leadership Program (VELP 2024) and work in the United States, Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, led the delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam at a working session with United Nations Deputy Secretary General in charge of peacekeeping Jean-Pierre Lacroix and United Nations Police Commander Faisal Shahkar.
The United Nations side highly appreciated the team of officers sent by the Ministry of Public Security to participate in the peacekeeping police force recently, especially the establishment of Peacekeeping Police Unit No. 1, demonstrating commitment of the Party, State and Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam with international friends to active and responsible participation, contributing to maintaining peace, stability and development in the region and the world. The United Nations hopes that the Ministry of Public Security will continue to send highly qualified officers who meet the criteria to participate in UN peacekeeping activities, especially female officers.
Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung requested the United Nations to share experiences, provide guidance, documents and textbooks for the Ministry of Public Security to build a training center for officers participating in UN peacekeeping activities, contributing to improve qualifications and increase the number of officers.
On April 4, in Washington D.C., Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung and the working delegation worked bilaterally with a number of partners in the United States, including the Department of Homeland Security, National Security Agency, and technology corporations Asia Group and Space X./.
