In the afternoon of June 1, more than 300 overseas Vietnamese in Hong Kong continued to march to oppose China’s illegal placement of Haiyang Shiyou-981 drilling rig in Vietnam’s waters and other infringement acts in the East Sea.
Most protestors wore red T-shirts with Vietnamese national flags and words “Towards the East Sea”.
Apart from posters and banners on protesting against China’s undeniable violations in Vietnam’s waters, the protestors also raised posters, which asked the international community to support Vietnam against the China’s cruel incursion into Vietnam’s sovereign waters and expansionist policies of the country.
Especially, they brought a letter written in the blood of more than 50 people, demanding China to withdraw the drilling rig out of Vietnam’s waters. It also showed that Vietnamese people love peace and oppose war.
The letter will be delivered to the US Consulate General in Hong Kong.
