Presents given to sea and islands sovereignty protection cadres’ and soldiers’ children

On July 27, the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) worked with the Kien Giang provincial People’s Committee to give presents to the children of cadres and soldiers protecting the sovereignty of sea and islands and also disadvantaged children who have contracted serious illnesses in the Phu Quoc Island district.

Accordingly, among 113 children receiving the presents, 13 of whom are children of cadres and soldiers working for the Navy Force High Command Zone 5 suffering badly and having contracted dangerous heart or kidney diseases. Each of them was given a present worth VND3 million.

Another 100 disadvantaged children of Phu Quoc Island district, received VND500,000 each.

On the same day, the NFVC awarded VND1.276 billion to disadvantaged children in Kien Giang province. The money is expected to pay for scholarships and surgery fees in medical treatment.

During the giving ceremony, Ms Pham Thi Hai Chuyen, Minister of Labour, War-Invalids and Social Affrairs, showed her deep affection and sympathy for the disadvantaged children’s families, adding that she hoped the assistance would help cadres and soldiers work better in protecting the fatherland’s sea and islands./.
