Art performance for beloved sea and island

An item at the art performance

On August 12^th, in Dien Bien Phu city, the Dien Bien provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held an arts performance entitled “For beloved sea and island.”

The programme drew the participation of more than 200 artists, actors and actresses from artistic troupes from across the province.

With 12 performances, the event aimed to help people and soldiers improve their awareness of the role and strategic position of Vietnam’s border, sea and islands in the national cause of construction and protection; introduce specific cultural and traditions of ethnic minority groups in the Dien Bien province; encourage people to uphold national solidarity by participating in activities for the benefit of those living and working on the sea or islands.

Finally the awareness raising would help to improve the contributions of those people concerned with the implementation of economic development tasks in the border areas and islands and share the burden with those protecting Vietnam’s sovereignty over, border, sea and islands./.
