Central province assists fishermen with over VND28 billion

The central province of Quang Binh has decided to give assistance worth VND28.2 billion to fishermen in an attempt to encourage them to increase offshore fishing and to develop the fishing industry in general, the provincial People’s Committee has reported.

The assistance will be carried out in compliance with the Prime Minister’s decision 48/2010/QD-TTg supporting the exploitation of fisheries and aquaculture in offshore areas.

Accordingly, the money will be allocated to Dong Hoi city (over VND6.3 billion), Bo Trach district (over VND11 billion), Quang Trach district (nearly VND4 billion), Ba Don town (nearly VND7 billion) and Quang Ninh district (VND55 million).

The assistance will help fishermen buy fuel and purchase insurance for both the boats and the boatmen.

This is the 5^th time the province has carried out the aims of the policy on supporting the offshore fishing indudtry and contributing to the protection of the homeland’s island and sea sovereignty./.
