Quang Nam to have 33 new fishing boats in 2015

(CPV) - The Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee has approved a list of 33 ship-owners who are eligible to build new ships under the Government’s decree 67/2014/NĐ-CP.

Accordingly, the ship owners will have 33 newly built fishing vessels from now through 2015, including 14 steel ships, 2 composite vessels and 17 wooden boats.

Mr. Tran Dinh Tung, Deputy Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee said that the vessels would get VND4-13.5 billion for their building and have a capacity of 700-1,200 CV.

The main maritime areas are Paracel and Spratly archipelagoes, Gulf of Tonkin, Central region, South Central region and offshore Vietnam.

Aiming to ensure the building follow the regulations of the decree, the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee asked the ship-owners to be responsible for selecting branches of commercial banks in the province to complete lending documents and agree signing contents for loans.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, about 2,079 new off-shore fishing ships and 205 logistics ships will be built under the decree./.
