A photo exhibition about Vietnam’s Sea and islands was held in the capital city Nicosia, Cyprus on January 19th.
As citizens of an island nation, Cypriot people have a strong attachment to and deeply understand beauty and resources the sea and islands offer. Therefore, the image of Vietnam with the sea and islands erases geographic, cultural, national distance, and it rapidly touches the heart and wins sympathy of local people. Many Cypriot people only know Vietnam through news and books but they now feel close through photos about Vietnam’s sea and islands by journalist Gian Thanh Son.
"We know more about Vietnam through the sea and islands and understand that the people of Vietnam have a strong attachment to their sea and islands. We are really close to each other," a visitor said after visiting the exhibition.
Ms. Eleni Loucaidou, temporary Mayor of Nicosia capital, said that the exhibition helped Cypriot people understand more about culture, country and people of Vietnam.
It can be said that 30 photos about Vietnam's Sea and islands by journalist and photographer Gian Thanh Son displayed in the Republic of Cyprus is an image message of friendship, sovereignty and love of the country./.
