Fisheries resources surveillance forces receive Japanese-funded vessel

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) on August 5th received the vessel HAYATO at the Hong Ha Shipbuilding Factory in Hai Phong city. This is one of three vessel belonging to a non-refundable assistance package from the Japanese Government.

The vessel is part the aid worth JPY500 million from the Japanese Government to ensure maritime safety. As planned, the two vessels will be handed over in 2015.
HAYATO has a length of 56.13 metres and a width of 9 metres with a capacity of 1,079 tons. After being equipped with suitable devices for fisheries surveillance force activity, it will be used for patrol, management and law enforcement of fisheries at sea.
Speaking during the ceremony, MARD Deputy Minister Vu Van Tam sent a deep gratitude to the Japanese Government, confirming that the vessel would be used efficiently./.
