“Hoang Sa and Truong Sa of Vietnam - Historical and legal evidences”

On September 9th, the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with the Lam Dong provincial People’s Committee opened an exhibition entitled “Hoang Sa and Truong Sa of Vietnam - Historical and legal evidences” in Da Lat city.

For the first time, the Nguyen Dynasty wood-block documents which were recognized by UNESCO, confirming the national sovereignty of Vietnam over the two archipelagos, are showcased by the National Archive Centre IV in Da Lat city.

The exhibition also showcases 4 atlases and dozens of maps which were published by the Chinese authorities, confirming the historical and legal evidence of Vietnam’s sovereignty over Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos.

Hundreds of value documents, materials, publications and artifacts were published and compiled by the Vietnamese feudal dynasties; Democratic Republic of Vietnam and Socialist Republic of Vietnam’s authorities; and researchers from the West, confirming the historical and legal evidence of Vietnam’s sovereignty over the archipelagos.

The exhibition aims to promote national unity and the sense of responsibility among residents, especially youths, for protecting and claiming the country’s sovereignty over its sea and islands.

The exhibition is scheduled to last until September 13th./.
