Pre-primary school built on central province’s island

The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) in collaboration with the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN) on November 22nd inaugurated the Hoa Phong Ba pre-primary school in Con Co island district in the central province of Quang Tri.

The new building replaced the old on the same site with the old building having been severely damaged by storms in late 2013.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, MOET Deputy Minister Pham Manh Hung said the building of the school would help provide a safe place for the youngsters to begin their education and provide the parents with much peace of mind and a clear head to maintain the security of the nation’s island. “It is both responsibility and affection of the MOET and PVN for those who are steadfast in protecting the nation’s peace,” he said.  

The school, invested with a capital of VND4.8 billion, provides some 500 square metres of floor area with a eachers’ workroom, a dining room, 2 classrooms and 3 supplementary areas.

Con Co is an island district that plays a crucial role in national sovereignty and an important place for socio-economic development in the nation’s island system./.
