Diverse activities towards Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagoes

On July 26, in Hanoi, Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund held a meeting with the theme "10-year journey for the beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa".

According to former Vice President Truong My Hoa, Chairwoman of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, Chairwoman of the Club "For the beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa", after 8 years of the club operation, 13 groups, 309 representatives of the Fund and the Club visited soldiers and people on Truong Sa island district.

Former Vice President Truong My Hoa, Chairwoman of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, Chaiworman of the Club "For the beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa" shared about organizing a series of activities in the near future. 

In order to raise awareness, foster love and responsibility for the homeland sea and islands, the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the Board of Directors of the Club "For the beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa" organized a series of activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the implementation of the program "For students in Truong Sa"(August 14, 2012 - August 14, 2022); 10 years of Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund bringing delegates to visit soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district and celebrate the 8th anniversary of the establishment of the Club "For the beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa" (August 1, 2014 - August 1, 2022).

Notably, Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the Board of Directors of the Club "For the beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa" launched the construction of the project "For the beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa" to build 5 reading rooms, worth 1.5 billion VND,  at 3 primary schools in Truong Sa town, Sinh Ton island commune, Song Tu Tay island commune and two at Battalion 3 and Battalion 862 under Navy Brigade; mobilized to build 15 houses to present professional soldiers in difficult circumstances of border and sea, island protection forces worth 1.2 billion VND; mobilized to sponsor 3,000 scholarships (1 million VND each) for students who are children of the border guard and fishermen in difficult circumstances.

* Exhibtion on Truong Sa Archipelago and the DK1 platform

According to VNA, ninety photos on the Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago and the DK1 platform by Colonel Doan Hoai Trung are on display in Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the 97th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - 2022).

The exhibition spotlights the lives of soldiers and locals and their desire and determination to safeguard the sovereignty of the country.

Trung used to be a reporter of the People's Army Newspaper, and now President of HCM City's Association of Photographers.

The photos featured at the exhibition were taken during Trung’s trips to the Truong Sa island district and the DK1 platform.

On the occasion, Trung also made public a 180-page photo book with more than 200 photos reflecting the beauty of the island district, DK1 platform, the troops' training activities and combat readiness, and daily activities of the naval troops and islanders.

* "Sea and islands in my heart" contest is open to all those who love the sea and islands of the Fatherland.  Entries do not exceed 1,500 words, reflecting the potential and beauty of the homeland sea and islands; the beauty and silent sacrifices of the navy soldiers, of the love of the army and people; the beauty of labor and spirit of fishermen keeping the sea; feelings about business trips to visit soldiers and people on Truong Sa island district.

Entries are sent via email biendaotrongtraitimtoi2022@gmail.com until August 15, 2022.

The organizing board will present 1 First prize, 8 million VND each; 2 Second prizes, 5 million VND each; 3 Third prizes, 3 million VND each; 5 Consolation prizes, 2 million VND each to the winners./.
