On December 6th, thousands of people in Hanoi joined a charitable program “Run for the Heart” in order to raise funds for heart surgery needed for poor child.
The program was held at Yen So Park
The program aimed to raise funds for heart surgery for poor children
To join the program, each person donated VND100,000 to the heart surgery fund for poor children who have congenital heart diseases.
Many children joined the charitable program.
Participants ran 3 kilometres.
Each year, some 10,000 children are born with heart disease; 50% of whom need timely intervention for survival.
Many children fall into a critical situation due to difficult economic conditions or poverty.
“Run for the Heart” program, therefore, was organised to encourage sponsors to care for children with congenital heart diseases.
The program also aimed to encourage people to practice for improved health, according to the organising committee.
Foreigners joined the program.
