The center, invested with VND40 billion, includes a 4-storey 18-meter high building, providing a floor area of 1,824 square meters.
Expected to be completed in 2016, the center will be a place to showcase documents and images on the Hoang Sa archipelago’s natural geographical and administrative position.
It will be home to 9 subjects relating to the undisputed Vietnamese sovereignty over the Paracel archipelago.
The subjects and displays will include official documents dating back to before the Nguyen dynasty (1802-1945) about the archipelago’s geographical location and natural conditions and documents from China and western nations proving Vietnam’s sovereignty over the archipelago and materials on Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa archipelago from 1858-1954, 1954-1974 and documents on the Vietnamese State management of Hoang Sa archipelago since 1975.
According to Vo Cong Chanh, Chairman of the Hoang Sa district People’s Committee and Director of the Da Nang city Department of Home Affairs, the Hoang Sa exhibition center will be a cultural and historic institution which contains special political significance.
“This is not only a common exhibition centre for the younger generations to study about the Vietnamese tradition of patriotism and construction but it is also a place to store the legal evidence on truth and justice in the struggle for protection and confirmation of Vietnam’s sovereignty over Spratly and Paracel archipelagoes,” he said./.
