This is part of the Feasibility Study Report, recently adopted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, on rural power supply from the national grid for 19 provinces and cities across the country, including two power supply projects in Hai Phong city’s Bach Long Vy island and Kien Giang province’s island communes.
Under the power supply project for rural areas, 8,846 transformer stations and over 9,200 kilometers of electricity line will be built, connecting 251,308 rural families in 6,162 villages, and 2,594 pumping stations with the national grid.
The project attempts to help a majority of rural families have access to the national grid by 2020, satisfying the demand for socio-economic development, gradually increasing people’s knowledge and ensuring security and socio-political stability./.
