Fishermen assisted with communication devices

Twenty-five fishermen in Tuy An and Dong Hoa districts, Tuy Hoa city and Song Cau town in the central province of Phu Yen on July 28th were provided with 25 communication devices worth some VND31 million each.

The assistance, given by the Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Maritime Bank) in Phu Yen province, aimed to realise the Government’s decree 67 on policies to develop fisheries production.
The equipment of contact devices helps offshore fishing vessels keep smooth contact with the mainland, serving rescue work and facilitating inspection of fishing vessels at sea by State agencies.
According to the Phu Yen provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the near future, an additional 25 contact devices will be distributed to fishermen in four coastal localities.
So far, some 700 among over 1,100 offshore fishing vessels in Phu Yen province have been equipped with contact devices./.
