Central localities severely inundated

As of November 3rd, many regions in the central provinces of Phu Yen and Binh Dinh were inundated by flooding, with the deepest flooding level recorded at nearly 2 metres.
In Phu Yen province, torrential rain over the past two days caused serious flooding for residents in Dong Xuan and Tuy An districts. According to Ho Thi Nguyen Thao, Head of Office of the provincial People’s Committee, flooding claimed the lives of three people and left four others missing as of November 3rd

Local residents have to bring their household property to a railway embankment to avoid the flood.

In Binh Dinh province, water inundated Quy Nhon city. Authorized agencies evacuated hundreds of families to safe places.

Bu Nu Bridge in An Nghia commune, Hoai An district was destroyed by flood.

People have to use boats to travel on the streets.

More than 2,000 houses and 1,350 hectares of rice were flooded, while there were no reports of any dead or missing people as of November 3rd, according to Tran Chau, Vice Chairman of the Binh Dinh provincial People’s Committee.
