Over the past months, buckwheat flower fields in the northern province of Lang Son have been attracting tourists.
Over 90 kilometres from Lang Son city are the buckwheat flower fields of Tran Yen commune, Bac Son district. The flowers bloom in October and November, attracting a large number of tourists.
Flowers are planted in valleys surrounded by mountains. To reach the flower fields, tourists have to cross maize fields.
Buckwheat flowers are mainly white, and bring both tourism and economic value
Each visitor pays VND20,000 on average to visit and take photographs at buckwheat fields.
Buckwheat stalks are often used as food for livestock, while the seeds are dried and ground to make cakes.
A bridge is made for tourists to take photographs.
In Binh Gia district, pink buckwheat fields are planted next to rice fields.
Tourists can combine visiting flower fields with discovering the roads from Lang Son city - Binh Gia and Bac Son
