Over 20 professional cooks and volunteers in Hanoi joined hands to make 1,000 sticky rice cakes to present to children in highlands areas on January 14th.
The event was held in Hanoi by the Youth Links Club and the Vietnam Volunteer Centre (VVC).
One thousand sticky rice cakes, made with the sponsorship of cooks, will be handed over to highlands children.
Some 50 volunteers and over 20 cooks from hotels in Hanoi participated in the event.
The older instructed the younger on how to make sticky rice cakes.
Necessary materials were prepared the previous day.
Each cake, made from safe and fresh materials, is worth over VND4,000.
Cakes were made carefully.
This was the second year such an event was held in Hanoi.
Ha Vi, 5 years old, was taken to the event by her mother.
After the cakes were boiled well on January 15th, the organizing committee transported them to disadvantaged families and children in northern mountainous localities./.
