Key fruits for economic development in highland district

Over the past years, orange has become a key product for boosting economic development among households in Tra Linh district, the northern mountainous of Cao Bang. The district has some 100 hectares of orange trees.

As the fruits are of good quality and can bear cold weather, many families have switched from rice and maize production into orange production. Applying advanced technology into production, the planters can gain nearly VND1 billion each season.

A stable consumption market and increasingly high prices of the fruits have made the orange a key product in the locality, making remarkable contributions to poverty reduction and building a more prosperous border region. 

Farmers in Tra Linh district apply advanced techniques to care for the fruit, bringing high economic efficiency.

The trees planted in Tra Linh district offer higher productivity and quality than those planted in some other localities.

Quang Han commune has become a place specializing in growing orange trees.

Rice and maize production area has been replaced by orange area that brings higher economic efficiency.

The fruits contribute to boosting poverty reduction and building a more prosperous border region.

The orange is famous for its sweet and aromatic quality.
