Ho Chi Minh city’ farmers harvest maize

Farmers in Phuoc Hiep commune, Cu Chi district in Ho Chi Minh city, are harvesting rice these days, gaining an average productivity of 8 tons per hectare and profit of over VND30 million per hectare.

Maize is packed to be sold to the CP Company.
The company provides seeds and capital for farmers to buy fertilizer, and instructs them on how to plant and care for the maize adequately.
Le Van Thanh’s family in Ba Sa village, Phuoc Hiep commune, harvests maize on an area of 6,000 square metres.
Over recent years, maize helps farmers increase their incomes. Therefore, the number of poor families has been reduced./.
