Canon revisits one of its Friendship School projects

(CPV) - Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd visited and presented gifts at Canon Hoa Dao Friendship School, Phong Lang commune, Thuan Chau district, Son La province, on April 22nd.

On this trip, the Japanese Company officially presented the renovation work, repair of the roof and electrical systems of the classrooms to better serve the learning environment, and the company also donated 358 gift sets to local pupils.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Sawa Shunji, General Director of Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd said: "From 2007 to date, the project, 'Canon friendship school chain' has sponsored for 44 friendship schools in 19 provinces in the North and Centre with 105 new classrooms, two teachers' rooms, 14 toilets and washrooms. Every year, besides building new schools, Canon is very pleased to return to visit and continue to support the schools of project".

Before that, Canon also visited and extended support for project schools in Nghe An, Tuyen Quang and Ha Tinh provinces:

* On February 26th, Canon Vietnam granted 30 sets of computers in a handover ceremony in Bai Son Secondary School, Bai Son commune, Do Luong district, Nghe An province, and presented 186 gift sets for pupils. This program also involved the participation of 70 Canon Vietnam volunteers, employees of the company involved in computer assembly, sweeping, vegetable growing and garage repair, who joined the exchange program with the school.

* On March 10th, at the Kim Minh Primary School, Phuc Son commune, Chiem Hoa district, Northern Tuyen Quang province, the company handover ceremony of sanitary building for school. More than 50 Canon Vietnam volunteers and Japanese students participated in painting the classroom and exchanging with the students.

* Meanwhile, on April 7th, with the desire to overcome the consequences of the flood that caused damage to Huong Thuy kindergarten, Huong Thuy commune, Huong Khe district, Central Ha Tinh province, Canon carried out the handover ceremony of repaired classrooms and learning equipment and toys donation to the school.

Canon Vietnam hopes that with the efforts of the company, the local authorities, the encouragement from the Government of Vietnam and especially the contributions of Canon volunteers, Canon's contribution to the community as well as Canon's volunteer network will be stronger so that Canon Vietnam can contribute more to the educational cause of Vietnam in particular, as well as the development of society in general./.
