In early June, farmers in Ha Dong commune, Thanh Ha district start harvesting litchi.
The early harvested litchi are bigger and longer than traditional litchi that will be harvested in July.
According to Trinh Thi Ly from Thanh Binh commune, her family sold over a ton of litchi at VND40,000-50,000 per kilogram. At present, the price is down to VND28,000-30,000.

Traders come right to the gardens to buy litchi. In previous years, gardeners had to transport litchi
to markets to sell them.
Litchi is transported to main roads to be sold.
Litchi is also sold to foreign traders. Le Quy Su, Vice Chairman of the Thanh Cuong commune, said that the commune has over 300 hectares of litchi.
Stable price brings hundreds of millions of VND in profits to each gardener.

Ngo Duc Vinh, Vice Chairman of the Thanh Ha district People’s Committee, said that the district has 3,900 hectares of litchi, producing some 18,000 tons and reporting an estimated turnover of VND600 billion./.
