A tea zone in Lam Dong province’s Da Lat city has been established for nearly 100 years. Despite ups and downs, hundreds of hectares of tea have been maintained.
Cau Dat tea zone, situated 22 kilometres to the southeast of Da Lat city, has been famous since 1927. In 1931, the zone had an area of over 600 hectares of tea and its products were exported to Germany, France and the Netherlands.
Through history, the area maintained some 200 hectares, including some three hectares of ancient tea trees which are nearly 100 years old, with trunk diameters of 20-40 centimeters.
Apart from providing tea, the zone has become an attractive destination for visitors.
