Da Nang city looks to develop public transport

Delegates discussed obstacles in addressing wrongdoings and weaknesses in urban infrastructure, the upgrade and expansion of Tho Quang fishing port due to environmental and water pollution; and social welfare problems caused by suspended projects, downgraded social apartment buildings and unsafe food.

Nguyen Nho Trung, Chairman of the city People’s Council, asked authorized agencies to strictly inspect the operation of personal vehicles in the city, suggesting that public transport should be developed to restrict personal vehicles; and the city should build up a public transport project to ensure a smooth transportation  system.

He stressed that favourable mechanisms and policies should be issued to attract investment; tackle businesses’ difficulties; develop hi-tech zones; and deal with environmental pollution./.
